Well - the last two and a half weeks have been a little rough at our house!
Here is a quick timeline of our last few weeks...
Thursday, May 15th - Liam is fussy most of the day, which isn't like him. He seemed to cough and sneeze a little, but nothing too alarming.
Friday, May 16th - The fam goes to Lowe's. While at Lowe's mommy feels like something isn't right and takes Liam to the car. Mommy gets lots of green junk out of baby's nose. Mommy tells daddy that it is time to go to Primetime Peds. We See Dr. Rauchenstein who tells us he has a cold and a slight ear infection. He says colds cause ear infections. He gave Liam his first antibiotic and we left.
Saturday, May 24th - Liam seems better so we decide to go to the Weber Grill with Grammie and Grandpa. While there, Mommy starts to feel like she is getting a sore throat.
Tuesday, May 17th - Liam goes back to the doctor for a recheck of his ears. This time to his doctor, Dr. Byrn. He is still coughing and sneezing, but isn't as fussy. Dr. Byrn tells us that he no longer has an ear infection and to stop the antibiotic. After leaving Dr. Byrn, Mommy decides to go to the doctor while Grammie sits in the car with Liam. She finds out she has a virus that she probably got from Liam. She gets a script for an antibiotic, but the doctor says not to take it unless mommy starts to feel worse.
Friday, May 30th - Liam has a rough night.
Saturday, May 31st - Mommy and Daddy take Liam back Primetime Peds and we see Dr. Rauchenstein. He says Liam is either still not over his cold or has developed a new one. He has a horrible cough and a lot of congestion. The good news is his lungs sound good and he has no ear infection.
Monday, June 2nd - Mommy is running a horrible fever and feels horrible. She starts the antibiotic. She is afraid to get too close to Liam in case they have something different. Daddy gets home from work, eats a quick bite and goes to bed for a little while because he is in for a rough night. Grammie stays until Daddy gets up, around 11:30 pm. Liam is still sick and Mommy decides to sleep on the couch so her coughing doesn't disturb baby. (not sure why she didn't sleep in the guest room) She has always slept in the same room with Liam and is sad. Daddy hooks up the video baby monitor so she can watch and hear him. She looks at it most of the night. Daddy stays up most of the night with Liam.
Tuesday, June 3rd - Grammie comes over when Daddy leaves for work to care for Liam. Mommy is starting to feel a little better and so is Liam. Liam still has a bad cough, so Mommy and Grammie take him back to the doctor. Dr. Byrn is on vacation, so he sees Dr. Burt. Dr. Burt says Mommy and Liam have the same virus so it is okay for Mommy to be around him. Mommy is SO glad. He says Liam is starting to get over it and it sometimes can take 3 weeks for a cold to go away. Liam's ears and lungs are perfect, so no antibiotic! Thank goodness! Daddy comes home from work not feeling well. He says he is achy and has a headache. OH NO! We take his temperature and he has a fever! He doesn't sleep well. Mommy is up most of the night coughing and has lost her voice completely! The good news is Liam seems to be doing a lot better!
Watch for updates on our health......
Thank you SO much to Daddy and Grammie for all of their help. Tim has helped so much while we have been sick. He is an awesome husband to me and Liam is so lucky to have him as a daddy.
Grammie has sacrificed a lot of sleep to help us out. She is always such an amazing help and we hope and pray she doesn't get this nasty virus!
